Indonesia comprises a chain of thousands of islands. It is Southeast Asia's biggest economy. Indonesia prides itself of a wide spectrum of people. Simple rural hunter-gatherers and sophisticated urban elite call Indonesia home. Over three hundred local languages are spoken in Indonesia.

Long-term leader General Suharto was in power from 1965 to 1998. Since his ouster, Indonesia has made a slow yet steady march toward democracy. The first direct presidential elections were held in 2004.

Indonesia is the largest Muslim country in the world. Religious tensions in the nation are caused by Muslim extremist organizations. In 2012, eighteen Christian churches were closed in Aceh and attacks were carried out against property held by Christian Believers revealing increasing hostility toward Believers.

Pray that God will place Believers in positions of authority so they can lead the country with godly integrity and honesty (The Bible, Daniel 2:21).

Pray for God's protection and favor over Believers. Pray for courage and strength to share the Gospel with fellow-Indonesians (The Bible, Psalm 31:24).

Pray that despite the difficulty to obtain a permit to build a church, Believers would still be able to enjoy regular fellowship (The Bible, Ephesians 6:10).
