Praise Report: Iran Elects A Moderate President

On June 29, Iran’s President-elect, Hassan Rouhani, expressed the need for dialogue and interaction with the rest of the world. Mr. Rouhani was once a chief nuclear negotiator. Even though he is a long-standing establishment figure, he is viewed as a centrist. His landslide victory is seen as a victory for Iran’s reformists and moderates. Mr. Rouhani campaigned on a platform of moderation and resumption of normal relations with the West. His overwhelming victory reflects people’s desire for reform and moderation.

Praise God for a peaceful election in Iran (The Bible, 1 Chronicles 16:34).

Pray for reforms in Iran that will help the people of the country (The Bible, Galatians 5:13).

Pray for God to open doors for the Gospel to spread freely in Iran (The Bible, Mark 16:15).
