Malaysia has one of the most vibrant economies in Asia. It is separated into two regions by 640 miles of the South China Sea. Malaysia is a federation of 13 states and three federal territories.

The beautiful beaches and spectacular scenery make Malaysia a thriving tourist destination.

The eastern states have dense rainforests which are home to rich wildlife and diverse tribal traditions.

Ethnic Malays comprise nearly 60% of the population. 26% of the population is Chinese; Indians and indigenous peoples make up the remaining population.

The different communities have co-existed in relative peace and harmony. Christian Believers are a minority in Malaysia, but they are allowed to practice their faith. In spite of the freedom of worship, they are still very cautious.

In recent days, politicians have resorted to heated rhetoric against conversion. They espouse the view that Malays ought to remain Muslim, making it increasingly difficult for Malay Christian Believers. Once authorities find that a Malay individual has converted from Islam to another faith, they send him/her to re-education centers. Often, they are held in these centers until they agree to reconvert.

Pray for Christian Believers in Malaysia to continue to worship God and proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those they come in contact with (The Bible, Mark 16:15).

Pray for Believers from an Islamic background to continually feel the warmth and love of God's ever-abiding presence. Pray that re-education centers are abolished and Malays are given the freedom to have a personal relationship with Christ. (The Bible, Psalm 46:1).

Pray that God would send more workers to work among the Malays of Malaysia (The Bible, Psalm 96:3).
