Jesus Appears to a Muslim Widow
Lebanon, December 2012
Fleeing the fighting in Syria, a widow and her three children sought refuge in a Lebanese village. She related to Christian Believers the account of her amazing encounter with Jesus Christ. She was observing the traditional forty-day period of solitude and mourning for her dead husband. Hence she had not received any help from the local Islamic Aid Society. Greatly deprived, she was anguished by the loss of home and loved ones. After putting her children to bed, she curled up on the floor of the temporary dwelling place. Suddenly, she awoke to knocking at the door. She was terrified. She nervously looked out the window, but saw no one. Afraid for herself and her children, she sat at the door and dozed off again. That was when she felt the gentle embrace of Jesus Christ, who comforted her and assured her of His constant love and presence. He also told her to listen to the words of the Christians He would be sending to her the following day. The next day some Believers visited her and shared the Gospel with her (The Bible, Deuteronomy 31:6).
