Chad, the fifth largest nation in Africa, is a semi-desert country.
Chad prides itself of its status as an oil exporting country. In spite of a wealth of gold and uranium, Chad's infrastructure is deplorable. The people of Chad suffer greatly on account of political instability and the ensuing violence. Poverty is widespread. Tensions between the largely Arab Muslim north and the Christian and animistic south have resulted in clashes and conflict.
In spite of its troubled political history, the constitution of Chad and other policies protect and make allowance for religious freedom. Pastors and Christian Believers are being empowered to spread the Gospel among the people of Chad. Chad for Christ, an initiative that was started in 1994, has been successful in bringing the Gospel to many in Chad.
The next phase of this Christian movement will revolve around church planting and discipleship. One thousand, one hundred forty-seven Christians have been recruited for this next stage and they will be assigned to each of the sixty-two provinces of Chad.
Pray for political stability in Chad (The Bible, Philippians 4:6-7).
Pray that poverty is alleviated (The Bible, Deuteronomy 7:13).
Pray for the improvement of health and social conditions (The Bible, Matthew 11:28-30).
Pray for Christian Believers, Pastors, and Evangelists who bring the Gospel to the various provinces and peoples of Chad (The Bible, Isaiah 52:7).
